The title of my book is The Big Wave. The author is Pearl S. Buck. It is about a Gentle old man who was poor and became rich on a farm on a mountain in Japan. It is about a village life and a city life. At the same time, it is about poor people and rich people.
There where two friends named Kino and Jiya . Jiya’s family’s where very poor and Kino’s family where also poor. They went to the beach to look at the sea. They went with their family. Then Kino and Jiya called that they where going to swim.Their parents allowed them to go.
They went and swam to another town. Their parent were not aware that, their children were not in their town. They taught their children were swimming. The time they became aware that their children were not in their town, they search every where for them but they couldn’t find them. They shouted with tears and said Kino and Jiya come back. At that time Kino and Jiya were in another town working for money.
I predicted that this book was going to be about a big wave because of the title. I also guessed this story is going to show lessons about how to . I choose this book because I love reading new books and I thought it was going to be the type of story which helps people to grow up.
I imagined that the two friends will stop feeding the deers. In my mind i see that the old man will become the friends of Kino and Jiya. In my mind I visualize that Kino and Jiya’s family will be looking for them.
I related to this book because it shows me how to respect elderly people who come across my way. This author helps me to think about my late friend who died on her birthday in Ghana, because a young character also passed away in the book while swimming. The character reminds me of my best friend called Frank been sturborn in school.
Some questions I have are, how is it possible that Kino and Jiya swam from their town to another? How come the gentle old man became more rich than the people in the town? What could've happened if a shark swallowed Kino annd Jiya?
I recommend that the people who will read this story will learn how to help other people while they are in very severe pain and have problems.
i read this book before and its very interesting. I liked how you made your connections and how you talked about the questions you had =). But i think next time you can say more interesting stuff to convince the reader that this is sure a great book to read. GREAT JOB STILL!!!:D
